As Caroline learns more and more words we have started having "conversations." And let me tell you--after spending a year and a half with someone you can't communicate with, I can't tell you how much fun that is. This is a conversation we had yesterday morning as she climbed into bed with me.
Me: Caroline, what color are your jammies?
Caroline: Yeyow! (translation: yellow)
Me: Yes! Good job!
Me: Caroline, what color is mommy's shirt?
Caroline: Yeyow!
Me: Noooo....Mommy's shirt is green. Can you say green?
Caroline: Green!
Me: Good! So what color is mommy's shirt?
Caroline: Yeyow!
Silly baby. But she is learning. For the last several weeks, whenever you'd ask her about an object's color, she'd always say Pink. So this is an improvement. She now knows that things can be pink or yellow.
Another conversation I had with her yesterday stil makes me laugh. And the only reason (o.k., reasons) I'm telling you this is because it is sooooo funny, because when you're a mom all modesty and dignity goes right out the window, and mostly because I don't think anyone but my husband and my mother read this blog anyway.
Me: (accidently passed gas very loudly)
Caroline: (eyes very wide) Poop!
at this point she proceeds to go behind me, pull out the waist band of my pants and look down them.
Caroline: Change you?
And that, my friends, is why we have begun potty training her. And probably evidence of why we should have started sooner.
